AMI Bounty Report #2

I decided to mint a [collection of RMRK NFTs](https://singular.rmrk.app/collections/bc486ed2f30f59f974-HACK) and send those NFTs to their own unique wallets. I then spread out the private keys to those wallets across various social media platforms.

Here is the private key to the wallet that holds the Subsocial themed one:

An NFT Scavenger Hunt!

The more I get involved into the Kusama ecosystem the more opportunities I find; the more opportunities I find the more responsibility I take on; the more responsibility I take on the less time I have for everything else. I am running out of time these days because I've reached a point in my crypto journey where I could put so much on my plate that I could fill 5 whole work days per week. While that is a good thing and perhaps a sign that I should begin shifting to self-employment, I have great apprehension in doing so.

First and foremost, I don't trust myself. I am very passionate about blockchain technology and Web3 innovations, especially in the Dot-sama ecosystem. However I am an easily distracted person which cuts into my efficiency. For example, this post wasn't on my schedule, I just decided to write it! I could be doing a thousand other productive things but I guess my apartement is clean enough and it is late enough in the evening to justify leisure writing. Nonetheless, starting a buisness requires utmost focus and efficiency. If I can only get 4 hours of real work done in a day because I'm too busy tweeting or going down rabbit holes, there is absolutely no way I will be successful in generating income for my family.

Second, I feel like everything I touch eventually fails, dies, or will never be accomplished/completed. I went to college and got a degree in economics yet no one wanted to give me a chance and now I serve tables at Hinterland Brewery (come and say hi, I'll get you a free beer). Then I really got into the crypto world. It started last March when I decided to try my hand at the [NumerAI data science tournament](https://numer.ai/tournament). Data analytics is right up my alley so I spent a couple weeks writing a machine learning script and it landed me in the 85th+ percentile a few times. But then the tournament was flooded with the big dogs in analytics which drove the payout factor down and made my model's performace look weak. That along with poor predictive performance relative to when I first started has greatly discouraged me. I will probably unstake my NMR soon enough.

In late March I began my journey in Kusama by attempting to operate a validator node. It took me more than 2 grueling weeks to learn Linux from the ground up to get to the point of synching with the blockchain and maintaining the node. Within the first week of launching my node I caught a whale nomination that elected me into the active set and kept me there until late May. That was when everyone unbonded to participate in parachain crowdloans and even though I maintained 40+ nominations with over 7,000 KSM bonded, the algorithm just didn't elect me. I still run my validator but I haven't written a block in over 100 days. Very discouraging.

Lastly, I really don't believe anyone cares about my well-being, only about the shit I pump out. [I created an NFT collection to sponsor a marathon I'm running](https://singular.rmrk.app/collections/bc486ed2f30f59f974-FCMS) and it succeeded to a point, but part of me thinks it's because I'm donating the proceeds to charity - who wants to support me? I write articles which are really popular and dozens of people have come to me with questions or to ask me for advice, including one of [Mr. Beast's staff members, Devin](https://twitter.com/DevonMrBeastYT). I help people the best I can and a couple kind souls have given me KSM for the assitance I gave them, but I've never really generated *substantial and sustainable revenue.* Meanwhile there's all these RMRK NFT collections raking in tens of thousands of dollars and I'm just sitting here like, "please nominate my validator node, you don't even have to give me money." You see, people love what I make but not enough to buy it.

Maybe I'm too generous. Maybe I haven't made anything good enough. Maybe I'm just bad at all of this.

Now don't get me wrong, I've met some really cool and supportive people in the Kusama ecosystem and I'm sure they care about me and want me to succeed. I appreciate these friends and you know who you are if you're reading this, but you must admit that these few people are not the individuals that are going to shovel money into my bank account. The masses are going to be my source of income and unfortunately the masses are fickle and will likely just use me and spit on anything I put a price on.

My discouragement is great, probably because things are tough in my life right now both personally and professionally. I'm at a point where I have too much on my plate and the only way I can continue is if I sacrifice something that is taking my time. For me that means either I back off of crypto and take a more passive approach (I hate this option), or I quit my job serving tables at a brewery which pays me well but has no room for growth. If I quit my job then I won't be able to feed my kids but if I don't I'm probably going to jump in front of a moving bus. I am in a very uncomfortable spot right now and maybe I'm using this post as a therapy session to get all the shit off my mind. I don't know, I'm just trying to make it by.

So I'm at the precipice a cliff. Behind me is the tyranny of paradigms but in front of me is a boundless chasm of possibilities. Do I jump or do I turn around. I'm not sure, but sooner or later I'm going to have to choose.

I hope my children are proud of me one day.
