• In A Glass with Gav Episode 3, Gavin Wood revealed that we’re close to having a demonstrable version of JAM. With most of the time-consuming engineering work largely done, it is still not unreasonable to maintain a July 2025 launch target.
• The Moonbeam Foundation is inviting the community for input into its future strategic direction. They are proposing to expand further into the Ethereum ecosystem, potentially via Tanssi as an actively validated service (AVS). The intention is to preserve the use of the Polkadot SDK, maintaining the benefits of their Substrate EVM L1. This approach would allow them to enhance interoperability between both Polkadot and Ethereum ecosystems and create new use-case opportunities.
• The Web3 Foundation and Scytale Digital have joined forces to lead the seed funding of Hyperbridge with an investment of USD 2.5M.
• Phala has released the first ever benchmark for Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) enabled GPUs for large language model (LLM) processing, finding that they can handle the workload for providing decentralized, verifiable, and confidential AI model processing without significantly compromising performance.
• Tinkernet, the InvArch canary network on Kusama, will be halting operations on October 9th 2024. A snapshot of TNKR balances will be taken on October 8th, and 4 VARCH will be allocated for each 1 TNKR. No further action is required by holders.
• The date for the deprecation of the Rococo testnet has been set for Monday October 14th. Teams are advised to migrate to Westend or Paseo before then.

• A fourth proposal for adjusting inflation parameters has been submitted on the Polkadot OpenGov Wish for Change track. It suggests an inflation rate of 5%, with a constant 15% of inflation going to the treasury.
• Wish for Change Referendum 1157 requests that Distractive make the polkadot.com website source-code open to the public so that the community can contribute to improvements and identify vulnerabilities.
• Birdo has initiated Referendum 1134 to set up an on-chain Authority to distribute free .DOT usernames for users of the new Polkadot app.
