Disappointed by Fable's delay? Don't worry, Xbox still has a lot of games to announce
Xbox's busy 2025 calendar has unfortunately had to suffer the loss of Fable 4, now scheduled for next year. In announcing the postponement, Xbox Game Studios boss Craig Duncan tried to sugarcoat the pill by anticipating great things for the green-cross users.
In addition to ensuring that it will be worth waiting an extra year (as if to suggest that Playground Games has something really big on its hands), Duncan also let it be known that Xbox Game Studios "still has a bunch of games that haven't been announced yet" that he will dedicate himself to heart and soul in the coming months.
His words certainly hit home, especially considering that Xbox already has several games planned for 2025, including DOOM: The Dark Ages, The Outer Worlds 2, and Ninja Gaiden 4, plus PS5 conversions of existing titles like Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and Age of Mythology: Retold. It's fair to say that Microsoft currently has more PS5 games planned than Sony itself, not to mention what's planned for next year, with Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, Perfect Dark, and the new Halo games.
Duncan didn't offer many details on the matter, so we don't know what unannounced games he's talking about: are these completely new titles or new PS5 conversions (and maybe Switch 2)? We'll find out as we go, but in the meantime, we recommend getting used to the Sony and Nintendo logos at Xbox presentations.
