The Game Awards 2024 are now archived and Astro Bot has been elected Game of the Year. Among the losers there is also Black Myth Wukong, and it seems that the CEO of the Chinese studio Game Science did not take this result very well.

Through a long post on the Chinese social network Weibo, the head of Game Science, Feng Ji, reflected on the organization of The Game Awards expressing doubts about the way in which the awards are assigned: specifically, while underlining that all the candidates for the top prize were deserving games, he wonders with which criteria the GOTY is elected, adding that he "came for nothing" to the last edition of the event since he did not have the opportunity to speak on stage at any time during the evening.

Feng Ji's main problem would therefore be an alleged lack of clarity on the criteria used by The Game Awards to assign the award for Game of the Year, even before the defeat of his Black Myth Wukong of which he was a producer. Between the lines of the post, the CEO also lets it be understood that he has always been rather ambitious and confident about the potential of his Action/RPG, hinting that he had even prepared a speech two years ago for the awarding of Black Myth Wukong as GOTY.

It must be said, however, that Black Myth Wukong did not leave the TGA 2024 empty-handed, having won in the Best Action Game category and especially in the Player's Voice, the latter being the most appreciated recognition by the CEO of Game Science and considered by him "rewarding". Discussions aside, in the meantime Black Myth Wukong has received the patch for PS5 Pro which has brought several innovations on the technical front.
