Is Onimusha Way of the Sword exclusive to PS5 or is it also released on PC and Xbox?
Among the biggest surprises of The Game Awards 2024, it is impossible not to mention the grand return of Onimusha through a new game called Way of the Sword. After almost twenty years of absence, Capcom is preparing to launch a new main title of the historic franchise born on PlayStation 2 in 2026.
In this regard, will Onimusha Way of the Sword be exclusive to PlayStation 5 or will it also arrive on PC and Xbox Series X/S? Well, it is a multiplatform project: Capcom has already officially confirmed that the return of the series will take place not only on PS5 but also on PC and the new generation Microsoft platforms, exactly as already happened with all the main Capcom games of recent years that arrived immediately on as many systems as possible.
The doubt may seem legitimate considering that the Onimusha series has always been synonymous with PlayStation at the time of its first games, with Onimusha 2, 3 and Dawn of Dreams remaining PS2 exclusives. The progenitor of the series at the time was also brought to the original Xbox through the updated version Genma Onimusha, while its Remastered is the only title in the series that can be considered multiplatform in all respects having landed on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
With the release scheduled for 2026 the wait looks quite long, in the meantime however recover the announcement trailer of Onimusha Way of the Sword so as to have a first taste of this important return.
