The Saudi Arabian government is reportedly mulling the creation of a $40 billion investment fund to pour money into artificial intelligence, which could take place in the second half of the year.

Representatives behind Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund are also considering a partnership with Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) to oversee the AI investments, The New York Times [reported](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/19/business/saudi-arabia-investment-artificial-intelligence.html) on March 19 citing three people familiar with the matter.

Other venture capitalists may also participate in the AI fund and the a16z partnership could see it setting up an office in the country’s capital, Riyadh.

One of a16z’s founders, Ben Horowitz, is friends with the fund’s governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the Times reported.

If the $40 billion investment goes ahead, it would make Saudi Arabia the largest investor in the AI space. Two of the three people familiar cited by the Times predicted the fund could be launched in the second half of 2024, but the plans could still change.

## **Overview**

What is Aptos (APT)? Aptos is a [layer-1 mainnet blockchain](https://cointelegraph.com/blockchain-for-beginners/a-beginners-guide-to-understanding-the-layers-of-blockchain-technology) with roots stemming back to Meta’s Diem blockchain project. The Aptos blockchain aims to give the Web3 world a secure, scalable blockchain that people can use for various purposes, such as building applications on the network. APT is the native asset of the Aptos blockchain.

On its base level, Tron is a blockchain for building [decentralized applications (DApps)](https://cointelegraph.com/defi-101/what-are-dApps-everything-there-is-to-know-about-decentralized-applications) and assets. Tron’s native asset is TRX and is used within the Tron blockchain system. 

  
**What is Tron (TRX)?**

At 10,000 transactions per second, the Tron network places importance on speed and scalability, carrying a three-second block time. Vara2024第一季度工作报告

JAM 是 Join-Accumulate Machine 的缩写，代表了中继链协议未来后继者的一种可能设计方案。它旨在解决当前 Polkadot 上构建区块链项目在技术和经济上存在的某些困难。这些困难降低了创新者对数据的可访问性和可组合性需求，限制了生态未来的发展空间。

它的名字源自 CoreJAM，一种全称为 Collect Refine Join Accumulate的分布式计算模型，该模型最初由 Gavin Wood 以 RFC 形式提出。然而，在实际的链上计算中，只执行 Join 和 Accumulate 函数，而 Collect 和 Refine 过程则发生在链下。

因此最终命名为JAM。

与当前的Polkadot中继链的逐步迭代方法不同，JAM 将一次性完成投产，有利于将小版本迭代升级方式带来的负面影响降低到最低，从而引入一种新颖的区块链概念。

JAM解决当前区块链产业的核心痛点是：

* 数据碎片化且缺乏可组合性（例如Cosmos、Avalanche），需要独立的验证人集才能抵御攻击
* 中心化（例如Solana），整体系统弹性较差，数据量大甚至可能导致停机而当数据量小的时候存算力又被浪费，且存在中心化风险。以太坊通过众多 Rollup L2进行扩展的方案同样受到中心化模式的影响，而且 SNARK 成本高昂。

JAM 可以运行类似以太坊智能合约的DApp，但远不止于此，它可以运行任何类型的代码同时保持 Polkadot 架构的可扩展性。

JAM 与智能合约链有几个相似之处：

* 无需许可的代码执行直接运行在 JAM 链本身上。
* JAM 链的状态被组织成不同的封包。
* 除了状态之外，封包还包含代码和余额。

这些状态封装称为服务。因此，JAM 状态被划分为服务。新服务的创建无需许可，类似于在智能合约链上部署智能合约。因此，向 JAM 链添加新服务不需要任何中心化权威机构的批准或遵守治理机制，这与基于 Substrate 的链不同，后者要求添加新模块需要治理批准。服务包括代码、余额和某些状态组件，类似于智能合约链上常见的结构。

JAM 使用基于 RISC-V 的 PolkaVM（PVM）虚拟机。这将为 JAM 提供适用于 Rust 和 C++ 等编译器和语言的出色的现有工具。

除了所有节点都进行所有计算的链上共识之外，还引入了核心共识。 利用多个网络子集进行计算并确保计算输入的数据可用性。，其计算效率比完全链上共识模式高 300 倍。

JAM 的设计优先考虑与现有 Polkadot 平行链的兼容性。得益于Substrate良好的架构设计，在保持与 Polkadot SDK 兼容性的同时，Polkadot 验证人功能 (PVF) 也被重新设计和集成。它将以 Polkadot 虚拟机 (PVM) 为目标，而不是 WebAssembly。这一转变得益于 PVM 是对 RISC-V 的微小修改，而RISC-V 已被确立为 LLVM官方支持的编译目标。因此，PVM 可以在部署 JAM 之前就已成为 LLVM官方的编译目标。

除了充当平行链的安全共识层之外，JAM 还引入了重大增强功能。它有可能简化基准测试工作并减轻未来的基准测试要求。此外，JAM 引入了协议的概念，即多实例、多分片智能合约，用于管理和执行平行链之间的特定交互协议。此外，完整的跨链消息传递 (XCMP) 支持至关重要，从而可以消除平行链之间信息传输的限制，而这通常由跨链消息 (XCM) 来实现。

关于敏捷核心时间，JAM 保留了与现有设置的兼容性。但是，它引入了不仅针对平行链而且针对任意工作包集的核心时间的能力。这种灵活性增强了 JAM 生态系统内资源分配的多功能性和效率。
