peaq network & DATS Project

On 28/5/2024, peaq announced in this tweet: https://x.com/peaqnetwork/status/1795380853821821324 the arrival of DATS PROJECT to the peaqnetwork ecosystem.

What is interesting about DATS (let me simplify the name 😊) is the business approach I deduce from their website and their X.

On the one hand, their business model https://gitbook.datsproject.io/overview/business-model is the proposal of Cybersecurity services.

In the proposed model, they offer cybersecurity services such as DDoS attack simulation. What they offer is the ability to participate in the simulation, for example, by providing machine time and internet access, in exchange for offering your resources you get paid in their DATS token.

What is interesting about DATS is that it applies a traditional service business model on a blockchain, which allows it to multiply the potential resources it can mobilize at low costs, which I imagine allows it to build a very powerful offer at competitive prices. At the same time, it allows participants in the network to share unused resources in exchange for benefits. It’s a model that, while not 100% innovative, is a proposal that sounds very interesting.

Using peaqnetworks allows it to add the ease of DePIN environments to its solution, having the advantages of peaq such as the high transaction rate, network focus on DePIN environments, as well as the synergies that can be obtained by being in an ecosystem focused on EoT (Economy of Things) communications.

As can be read on their website, to participate you have to download their software, which they indicate is easy to install, although I haven’t been able to verify it yet. There are versions for Mac, Windows, Linux… and a control panel https://dapp.datsproject.io/ that looks quite good at first glance.
