#1518 · Incognitee: Privacy Sidechain on Polkadot Asset Hub (Retroactive)

Integritee has deployed its privacy sidechain technology on Polkadot Asset Hub, already supporting private transfers for DOT, USDCe, USDTe, ETH, WBTC.

We consider this a soft-loan which we will pay back to the treasury with a fraction of fee revenues which each shard of Incognitee earns as long as the target token is present on the Polkadot Asset Hub and can be spent by the treasury. We commit to sending 30% of our gross fee revenue back to the treasury automatically and regularly until we have repaid the soft-loan plus a one-off premium of 10%.

  1. Privacy doesn't only come from L1 k-anonymity as we explain in our blog on anonymity.
  2. Anonymity is very dependable already for actions on L2. Therefore, we disagree with your statement
  3. Incognitee is the only available option for privacy on Polkadot for the time being and there's nothing else on the horizon. Demand for enhanced privacy will undoubtedly rise once Polkadot will be used in everyday actions like point-of-sale payments (e.g. Polkadot Pay) where Incognitee is unbeatable with its ~1s confirmation time. Or, vice-versa, Polkadot will never see adoption in everyday actions unless there's reasonable privacy.

Nye. In your Full Proposal Document link, I found the Usage Analysis. The usage number does not look good. I feel it as a very bad sign and doubt the neccessarity of continuing support from treasury.
