Windows Recall Gets Snapshot Opt-in Feature

Windows Recall is one of the invasive feature launched by Microsoft under the guise of AI. And they released so many public updates about it making people wary of the feature and so much so they wanted opt-out.

And this has made a lot of wave on the Twitter/X and they managed to get people to report to Microsoft about it. Though obviously Microsoft does not want to drop this feature. Instead they are making some opt in changes.

So Microsoft has decided to play word games with the consumers. And they told the consumers the Recall will encrypt the password and other sensitive data fields. It’d also make snapshots optional feature and you can opt out.

Twitter is also reacting to the news and they seem to be reporting in tweet how such feature may become privacy invasive.

It’s like you create a feature which would watch every keystroke and mouse movement of user and let AI train on it. And then use that data to manipulate consumer. Later you come with the optin feature to disable this.

Sounds like the whole process of privacy is being ignored while developing the feature in the first place. Which goes to show that such feature should be disabled at the time of the install of the OS itself.

Recall will be installed by default unless consumers protest against it. Hopefully people from around the world unite for such type of the privacy leaking feature. Let’s see what Microsoft does against this feautre.
