Intel's Processor Suffixes : U, P and H Series
My laptop is dying and in few weeks it’s about to take it’s last breathe. So I am planning on buying a new gaming laptop and hoping it would last longer than those mid range laptops.
So I came across this concept of the U, P and H series in the Suffix at the end of the Processor numbers. So base number for brand remains i5, i7 and i9 and then comes the generation too. You have to refer to above image for reference.
Here if you are one of the people who are into code, development, video editing then you should go with the H series. Why? Because HK, HS, H series of the suffix are designed for the maximum performance boost. And they cost higher amount for laptop and desktop processor.
Say you just want to browse internet, write, send email etc. Then for such type of the work you can make use of the U and P series of the laptop processors suffix.
In case of the code, development, gaming you are better off with the HX, HS and H series of the laptop. I kind of learned a lot of inner series whose performance may or may not always be a good performance.
In short, you have to think of the processor suffix and based on that you should buy. Also it’s 2024 so you should buy anything with processor generation 10th and onwards, and not below it.
