Parachains are now ready to launch on Polkadot

1/ $DOT AUCTIONS ARE READY!

After 5 years of unfailing attempts, Gavin Wood & Robert Habermeier just announced parachains have now been officially ready for launch on Polkadot.

2/ All technical barriers to parachain launch on Polkadot have been surpassed and parachains, auctions, crowdloans code is now ready for an initial production release on Polkadot.

3/ In case motion 128 is approved by Polkadot’s on-chain governance, the schedule of $DOT auction is expected to happen from mid November, 2021 to mid March 2022.

4/ Different from Kusama, each auction on Polkadot will assign a parachain slot for a total of 96 weeks (divided into 8 12-week lease periods). This is expected to be a fierce competition with some bright candidates such as Acala Network, Moonbeam Network, Astar, etc.

5/ For those who want to participate in parachain crowdloans, they will need to unbond their $DOT to participate, and the current unbonding period on Polkadot is 28 days.
