BingX hack : Real or Scam?
Analysts are claiming that a clever hacker has hacked assets worth more than $26 million from the BingX exchange.
But I find loopholes in this hacking theory. Let's see what happened:
- The hacker turned out to be a trader too: According to analysts' estimates, the hacker also traded with the stolen assets on the platform itself, then transferred a large amount of crypto to other addresses. This shows that BingX could have prevented the hacking, but it gave the hacker an opportunity to make easy withdrawals. Seems like repeating SBF, Machinesky, Do Kwon trick.
- BingX is hiding: BingX has announced temporary maintenance of the wallet system and suspended deposits and withdrawals for 24 hours. BingX has not mentioned the hacking, but has not denied it either. This is stupider than WazirX’s hack claim.
- No tracking: Hacking incidents are increasing continuously, yet these exchanges are not taking security measures, but BingX has shown a lot of laxity. Neither tracking has started, nor efforts have been started for WhiteHat. This also shows that there is an insider behind the hacking.
