• The official figures for the Kusama Spammening have dropped. With 23/100 cores utilized, the maximum recorded throughput hit a staggering 143,343 TPS. This means that at full 100-core capacity Kusama could theoretically achieve 623,230 TPS.

• In collaboration with Velocity Labs, Harbour’s Magic Ramp is now integrated with Polkadot Asset Hub for seamless onboarding of DOT and USDC from any EU bank account. UK support is expected in early 2025.

• Decentralized Futures grant recipient Paper Moon has launched the Developer Documentation Hub on the Polkadot website. This unified Polkadot platform will simplify onboarding and provide valuable resources to developers of all levels.

• Something may be brewing in the US with 21Shares, a Swiss provider of cryptocurrency exchange-traded products. The discovery of an entity named 21SHARES POLKADOT TRUST listed in Delaware, as reported by CryptoSlate, is fuelling speculation about a potential US DOT ETF application.

• Decentralized parametric insurance provider PRMX is the latest recipient of a Web3 Foundation Decentralized Futures grant. The first offering from PRMX will be rainfall insurance in Luzon, Philippines, in Q2 2025. The grant project includes the development of a Polkadot-Sufficient-Assets UI Library, a confidential API off-chain worker (OCW) template, and an OCW that can detect insured perils using real-world data.

• Peaq welcomes green energy DePIN CPIN to the Peaqosystem. Using Peaq’s modular DePIN functions, CPIN will collect valuable data from an incentivized network of green and smart energy devices, and tokenize green energy sources.

• Bistroo, the decentralized food delivery service building on Peaq, announces the integration of omni-chain interoperability protocol LayerZero. This integration will connect the BIST token with more than ninety leading blockchains, enhancing its accessibility and liquidity.

• Silencio announces an additional seed funding raise of $2.5M, a significant increase to the $1M raised earlier in 2024.

• XMAQUINA becomes the first DAO on the Peaq Network. DEUS, the governing token, will be fair-launched through a series of genesis auctions payable in PEAQ, ETH, USDC, and other DePIN or AI-related tokens. This will serve to bootstrap the XMAQUINA DAO with a multi-token treasury.

• On Wednesday December 18th, Peaq hosted decentralized compute DePIN PING to hear about their plans to build their incentivized network of gaming PCs.
• Legion hosted the founders of Silencio on December 19th to hear all about their incentivized network of sound-monitoring sensors spanning more than 180 countries and 400k users.
• The Gavun Wud team and special guests from Bifrost, The Dots, AiWeb3, and Alpha Airdrop held a pre-DEGEN JAM bull-cast about Polkadot, Web3, and WUD on December 20th, before moving on to live commentary of the Flappy Wud 2.0 dynamic airdrop event.
• Polkaworld hosted the Polkadot 2024 Year-End Recap on Friday December 20th.
