- Let’s welcome the second cohort of Polkadot Social Media Editorial Board content contributors, featuring Wagmedia Director Goku, Creator/Director (Ajuna Bounty) Emil Kietzman, and Creator/Unique Network Content Lead Esther. - The Web3 Foundation announces the Decentralized Nodes Program. Successful applicant validators will benefit from Web3 Foundation nominations for four-month periods, resulting in enhanced recognition, trust, and earnings in the Polkadot network.

- Thanks to the continued good work of Velocity Labs, Polkadot Asset Hub USDC, USDT, and DOT are now supported for deposits and withdrawals on CoinEx.
- IoT and blockchain solutions company Staex has received a Web3 Foundation Decentralized Futures grant. Their grant project involves automating cell tower compliance certification by collecting and logging EMF radiation data to the blockchain.
- Peaq welcomes crowd-sourced weather data DePIN SkyX to the Peaqosystem. Users will be able to purchase SkyX weather stations, issued with Peaq IDs, to collect weather data and be rewarded with SKY tokens natively minted on Peaq.
- Energy Web X announces the beta launch of AutoGreenCharge, an app for verifying and ensuring that EV charges are coming from 100% renewable sources.
- Hyperbridge has integrated EVM compatible, community-owned network Gnosis Chain into its testnet.
- Hyperbridge has also joined forces with Hashi Alliance, an EVM hash oracle aggregator. By collaborating with Hashi, Hyperbridge can enhance the security of cross-chain applications by leveraging multiple oracles for the validation and verification of block headers and messages across networks.
- Snowbridge has been working on a new architecture that will switch message delivery from ordered to unordered. This will result in lower fees and enhance transfer flexibility by enabling bi-directional arbitrary contract execution.
- The Runtime 1.3.3 changelog has been published by the Polkadot Fellows. Most notably, this is the runtime that will enable adjustable inflation parameters on Polkadot.
- If passed, Whitelisted Caller Referendum 1202 will upgrade Polkadot to runtime 1.3.3 at around 08:00 UTC on October 15th.
- With the passing of Referendum 1139, the Polkadot community has indicated a sentiment for reducing inflation to 8%, decreasing linearly over time. Jonas Gehrlein (Web3 Foundation) plans to initiate a Root referendum to implement the changes after the enactment of runtime 1.3.3.
- With the new Ambassador Program drama continuing this week, Referendum 1195 proposes to remove all 20 Head Ambassadors and requests that the Polkadot Technical Fellowship remove the Ambassador Collective from the Collectives Chain.
- Marvin Tong (Hashforest/Phala) has initiated a discussion on OpenGov proposing to build a USD $1.5M community-owned Polkadot Super AI Center, featuring 2 Nvidia DGX H100 systems that would be available to Parity, Web3 Foundation, and Polkadot Ecosystem teams free of charge. In addition, computing resources would be offered to Web3 and AI partners, and the public at a discount.
- Lolmcshizz has initiated a discussion on Hydration governance regarding the diversification of Protocol Owned Liquidity (POL) using ~1.258M USDS that is currently unallocated. He proposes diversifying $400K into SOL, $400K into AAVE, and $200K into SUI, all onboarded by Moonbeam Routed Liquidity. The remainder would be put into HDX.
- Week 4 of the Stellaswap DOT Incentive campaign has kicked off. This is the first round of boosts to Polkadot parachain projects, with additional DOT rewards boosting the BNC-DOT, MANTA-DOT, NCTR-DOT, and PEN-DOT pools. The BNC pool led the charge with initial APRs of 500%!
