GTA 6 Will Be More Inclusive and Careful Not to Offend Minorities, Says Bloomberg
The Grand Theft Auto series has always stood out for the irreverence of its characters and the boldness of its authors in tackling the most sensitive issues of Western society without too many filters. It seems that things will undergo some changes, according to Jason Schreier.
The well-known video game insider and Bloomberg journalist, stated in his new article that GTA 6 will be "softer" than the previous chapters of the open world series. If what Schreier said is true, we can expect more "inclusivity" and particular attention to not offending minorities. Apparently, "Rockstar asks its writers to be less offensive towards transgender people and other minorities, who were often the object of ridicule in previous games".
Being over the top has always been a trademark of Grand Theft Auto, and we could also see this in the announcement trailer for GTA 6. In light of the changes in Western society from 2013 (the year GTA 5 was released) to today, however, it may have pushed Rockstar to be more cautious in addressing certain socio-political topics that today easily arouse controversy and very heated discussions.
Although Schreier has confirmed himself over time as a rather reliable source, we remain awaiting the next official updates from Rockstar. In the same article, Schreier confirmed how GTA 6 is terrorizing the publishers of games coming in 2025.
